what religion do you believe in? if any?
Since the goal of physics is to explain the laws of nature supernatural and paranormal might mean the same thing.

I only have physics as a hobby, but what you said is very true, physicists do not understand everything about how the Universe works, and I don't believe we have the capacity to understand how the Universe works. The very fact that light is both a wave and a particle flies in the face of our understanding, yet it is one of the most basic of laws of nature, and one we are only barely beginning to get a peek at understanding. But, as to the Universe contravening the laws of nature, it already does. We've stumbled on evidence that the laws of nature are not the same everywhere in the Universe, nor have they been the same in the past.

Subject: I have a black cat.
Believer: Black cats are bad luck.
Non-believer: It's just a cat.
Crackpot: Black cats are part of the New World Order government conspiracy.
Skeptic: I can test if black cats are more or less lucky than another cat.
Cynic: You only have a black cat to gain power and prestige.

I love this latter conversation about the definition of supernatural. I think it's a very important question, especially seeing as we exist on this site to determine what may be or may not be supernatural. If everyone has a different understanding of the concept, then how can we ever make determinations?

However, it's a bit of a tangent from what OP originally asked about personal religions. Not that that is a bad thing, but I think the question of the definition of the supernatural is a big one on it's own, that'll require some good delving. That could get in the way of what OP was looking to learn about people Smile

SO! I created a new thread HERE called What is the Supernatural? I quoted you, DFB, and Dron in the first post, so we could forward your original thoughts on the matter. Lets continue this talk! It's really fun.
Gnosticism fits best.
