Because they sap our strength, "feed" on us, via psychical rather than physical means. They don't drink our blood or cannibalize us.

But Central and South American vampire bats do exactly that.

RE: Immortal Vampires, Reality or Myth?
As an interesting note, there was recent news of a 16 year old girl who hasn't aged at all and still looks and acts like a toddler. Her name is Brooke Greenberg and has baffled doctors. Even though shes only 16, no sign of aging is essentially immortality.

Good point. Where did you read this article? Is there a link to it?

RE: Immortal Vampires, Reality or Myth?
Just a thought but I assumed there are various ways to kill a vampire, so it would seem that no immortal vampire has ever existed. Not to say there hasn't been one or more but removing the head from the rest of the body and burning all of it, seems to keep it from continuning his/her blood sucking antics.

The notion of picking one time of the year to be decent to other people is obscene because it's actually validating the notion of being miserable wretches the rest of the year.

RE: Immortal Vampires, Reality or Myth?
I agree GH if they were 100% immortal then there would be no way to kill them at all I thought that was what immortal meant which is not be able to die.

RE: Immortal Vampires, Reality or Myth?
I always thought that the 'imortals' were of the old age vampires, meaning the elders.
But to answer your question, yes I believe there are 'immortal' or ancient vampires among us.

Sucks to be me, (pun intended)
