Nope

Wicca was created in the early 1950's by a man named Gerald Gardner. Many Wiccan's practice witchcraft witch does date back many many many years.

Wicca is under the Pagan umbrella and paganism IS very old. Perhaps (tho not proven I dont think) is as old as there is people.

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.
(William Butler Yeats, "The Land of Heart's Desire," 1894)

My qualifications LOL are that I am a second degree Wiccan High Priestess in a coven (which means I have studied my butt off and have been initiated through a coven degree system). I am also teaching a Wicca 101 course to students seeking the Wiccan path. I am also a Hand Maiden which means I am the one who takes over the coven when the High Priestess decides to step down. I practice magick also tho I do not teach magick to those seeking. I will answer questions on it, but when you teach...you become responsible.

So ask away if you have any questons ask away Smile

When I was a child we were always told that witches are bad. We lived in a small town of very narrow minded people. My nanna (a very religous lady and very wise) I could always talk to about anything. One day we got talking about witches. I asked her if there was any good witches? Nanna told me that she believes there are good witches, there is somekind of good in everyone. But being a kid I wanted to know if it was really true. She said she never met any one who practiced witch craft so she couldn't tell me for sure

I don't mean to sound stupid, but that question I always wonder about. I know there are people who practice black magic, but are there just as many witches who are for the good as for the negative?

love and miss you dad

RE: If anyone has any questions on Wicca
Most people who follow the Craft are good people. You do have the nut cases, who believe that worshiping Lucifer, will give them great Power. Mostly these people are on a power ego trip, and they manage to ensnare young people who are very vulnerable, who are trying to find out who they are. Anyone who has been doing this for a long time, will tell you that whatever you do, you are responsible, and it will come back to you. The Craft has gotten a bad image by those who are just plain ignorant. The movie Practical Magic is one of my favorites. I have always found The Official Witch of Salem fascinating. I have no proof of course, except vague memories here and there, that I believe I was once Rebecca Nurse of Salem. I have never visited there.
I like the nature aspect of the Craft. Respecting the earth. Like anything else, you are in control of what you do or say. You can choose to do good, or you can choose to do bad. Unfortunately the bad press of the Craft is emphasized. Much is ridiculed as well.

Also the Hallmark movies The Good Witch, and The Good Witch's Garden . Which are both on tonight at 7pm CST. On the Hallmark Channel.

Interesting! to tell you the truth I am not into religion but I have faith in God and the angels around us not to mention mythical creatures lol! Icontexto-emoticons-01-032x032 I love history any kind of history... so I might ask questions out of curiosity about the history of wicca and the understanding of it! if you don't mind! Well, Witchy Mom will surely be able to give you the answers ! Growing up , I was accused as a witch ! So that made me steer clear of it. I did study it though,as it was needed in the work I do. You can't be narrow minded in the realm of healing.I love history too. But if any of my experience can be of help, you have only to ask.
