Who has more control of our thinking; God or Satan?

Who has more control of our thinking; God or Satan?

I don’t know what God or Satan’s game is, but God giving Satan dominion over our political/physical realm as well as the power to deceive our spiritual/religious realm in us all seems counterintuitive to what a good God would do.

It seems like God is giving Satan the advantage, in terms of our ability to think without deception or Satan’s undo interference.

Rev12;9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,

called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Why did God curse us with Satan and her minions?

It cannot be to give us free will as none of us have the free will to never sin. If we did have that, we would have some examples of
people who never sinned.

On another tangent, scriptures say that God himself put’s lies/deception into his prophets and that he decides who will have faith or not by his doling out grace only to those he has pre-selected and thus denies other the ability to have faith or belief.

This biblical contradiction, strangely, refutes all that I put above on Satan. Can Christians clear up this contradiction?

So, am I to assume that the question here is "Why did god curse us with Satan?". Was your question about free will, and our inability not to sin? Because the only scripture you quote is about casting Satan to earth, so I don't know where those contradictions about prophets/etc. are found.

First of all, let me apologize.  I generally try to watch yr videos but the very first sentence out of this guy’s mouth was a blatant lie, as anyone who has even a rudimentary knowledge of the bible or cursory reading of Exodus would recognize by the time he was a dozen or so words in.

Sentence fragment, I should say, as I didn’t wait for him to finish.  I generally stop listening when people start off by lying to me and assuming I’m too stupid to notice.  Maybe he eventually came to some sort of point but I’ll never know because, while I love hearing the opinions of peeps who don’t agree with me, I have little patience for those who don’t respect me.  And this guy obviously doesn’t respect his audience.

Then again, from is tone, his intended audience is likely people who already agree with what he intends to say.  Classic information bubble.  Nice effect with the eye-shadow, though.  I’ve always bin fond of ‘domestic abuse’ fashion statements.

; )

Seriously, though, I really don’t understand what yr getting at here.  This seems a particularly disjointed and confusing post, even by yr standards.  Satan doesn’t have dominion over our physical realm.  Satan doesn’t even have dominion over his own actions.  You do realize that Lucifer is an angel, right?  He does what he is told to do.  No more, no less.  ‘Free will’ is not part of his skill set.

Take a moment to let that sink in.

(Meanwhile:  When angels take on human form, biblically, it’s always the form of a young adult male.  Hence, Satan is a man.  Or more correctly, an ‘it’ that, if it did so, would present itself as a ‘him,’ not a ‘her.’)

Now, onto yr comment that “None of us have the free will to never sin.”

That doesn’t even make logical sense.  As if someone could somehow ‘will’ themselves never to make a poor choice.  As if a person could decide today to never again make a mistake, for the rest of their life.  The concept of ‘free will’ involves choice after choice after choice, endlessly…  and, inevitably, we all make an unfortunate one.  That’s kinda the whole nature of ‘free will.’

Free will is not a curse.  It’s how we grow.  It’s how we learn to be better people.  It almost seems like you, Enemies,  feel entitled to some kind of participation trophy.

“God created me, therefore my fallibility is His doing.  A better god would have made me perfect.”

Honestly, I just feel you don’t understand some basic Christian concepts, like free will and the role Lucifer plays in all this.  Maybe if you would sit down and read the bible, instead of watching Youtube videos about it, you’d a get a more clear idea of what it contains.

Just sayin'...   Blueud

And then there are those of us that have the opinion that he doesn't even really WANT a discussion, just an argument, so he begins by being as derogatory as possible hoping to move someone to action.

Mika, I enjoy it too! But you put a lot of work into your trolls, which is kind of what he wants.

C’mon, K-Ra, you should know me better than that.  Do you really think I put any substantial effort into responding to Enemy #0?  Just go back and read some of my more serious responses in other peeps’ threads, like when someone seems honestly concerned that there might be a demonic force in their life.  I’m detailed, orderly, I’m clear about my biases and meager credentials… and I generally proofread and rewrite the post half a dozen times before actually putting it on the website.  But the above reply?  It was totally off the cuff.

Yr a philosopher, right?  You must think a lot.  I think through writing.  Even when away from a keyboard and purely in my head, I consider sentence structure and word choice and sometimes go back to edit a thought.
I’m a writer.  I explore ideas, and my beliefs evolve, through that process.

It doesn’t require work or effort.  It’s just how I do.

Now, I admit that sometimes I do use trolling Enemy #0 as an excuse to express (in my opinion) proper Christian theory to anyone who might happen to be reading.  While I hold faith in all peeps, even Enemy, I hold no illusions about the likelihood of winning him over.  What effort I do put into these replies, I do so for the casual browser, the 143 ‘guests’ our forum has had in the last 15 minutes, who aren’t quite certain whether or not we’re a safe and accepting place and happen on one of his threads.  For every hateful and misleading thread he posts, I provide an alternative, more positive view.

And call him out.  Just because that bit is fun.

Incidentally, you may or may not have noticed, but I’ve directed this entire response on Enemy’s thread to you, K-Ra, ignoring him completely and talking about him as if he were not even here, grinding his teeth and mumbling expletives at every word I type, as we both know he is.  Witness trolling at it’s finest…

No No.

Let me apologise for not checking beforehand that you liked the author before having you ignore his message.

His words are interesting and accurate and I thought it a good side issue to the main one that you ignored.

You really shouldn't link videos that have nothing to do with what you are talking about, gnostic. Doesn't matter how "interesting and accurate" they might seem, they just don't add any weight to a crappy argument. And man do you need more weight to your arguments...
