Have you leaned what Jesus and your bible teaches?

Have you leaned what Jesus and your bible teaches?

The Bible teaches one to start a spiritual journey from the bottom, i.e. from a stage where he must consider himself as a born sinner and starts his journey upwards from there. One reaches the second stage when he realises that he is the son and God is his father. The final realisation is when he realises that he and the Father are one.

This is similar to the spiritual journey of a Hindu who starts his journey from the Dwait stage, where he thinks himself and God to be two distinct entities, graduates to Vishishta Adwait, a stage where he thinks himself a fragment/fraction of Him and finally reached to the Adwait stage where he merges himself with that infinite consciousness.

Stevan Davies. The savior is not a celestial being brought to earth; the savior is a capacity of the mind, and the savior’s journey from above is actually one’s own journey from within.

John Lennon. It seems to me that the only true Christians were the Gnostics, who believed in self-knowledge, I.E. becoming Gods themselves, reaching the Christ within, the light is the truth. Turn on the light. All the better to see you my dear.

John 6 ; 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

I think Jesus hated the idol worshipers of the traditional supernatural based religions and wanted to put us on a better and more naturalistic Gnostic Christian path of seeking knowledge and wisdom through Gnosis; that being a deeper knowledge of the self and others.

Do you agree?

No.

For the sake of a message longer than 15 characters, it is now good practice to: see a post by Gnostic. Not read said post by Gnostic. If the question "Do you agree?" appears, just answer "No." and move along.

Disclaimer:  I will, at one point in this post, reference Pat Robertson.  I have gotten in trouble in the past on forums for things I've said about the man.  To be clear, I'm sure there is kindness and faith in his heart.  At the same time, he blamed hurricane Katrina on the lgbtq community.  You throw shade on me and mine, I will throw you into complete darkness.

Not today, however.  I'm just gonna reference a song.  Still, if anyone out there is sensitive about these things, please stop reading.

Well, sure Enemies, I agree with the bulk of what yr saying here.  I consider myself a Christian, after all, and this is Christ 101.  What I don’t understand is why you seem to feel this idea is some kind of secret and/or profound concept to which Gnosticism can lay claim.  It was laid out to me by a Methodist priest, back when I was first forming my ideas on religious philosophy.  Before that, when I was an obnoxious little punk ‘tween, Jello freaking Biafra wrote a song about the concept.

Yeah, I see yr John Lennon quote and raise you a Jello Biafra.  Because I had the cool dad with the bass guitar and the record collection.  I think my favorite line of the song was ‘If Jesus met Pat Robertson, what do you think He would he say?’

The point is, nothing you say here is anything more than basic Christian ideology.  It’s Jesus overturning the money changers tables in the temple.  It's him hanging out with prostitutes.  It isn’t Gnostic or Methodist or Catholic… it’s just Christ 101.
Oh, and I love the poem.  Thanks for sharing the link   Icontexto-emoticons-08-032x032

As The O.P. shows, I do not claim that the concept was unique to Gnostic Christianity.

Thanks for not seeing that.

The human becoming God is not the Christian ideology. Their ideology is that Jesus/Yahweh is the only God and that is why they fly the cross and are lined up to use Jesus as their scapegoat savior, instead of relying on themselves to save them selves by their own works.

I guess that you have yet to rad this in your bible, which refutes what you put.

Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Gen3;22 Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil;

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

To test is to judge and the loving thing to do is to correct and not have those you love follow the evil path.

I contacted Pat Robertson's organization many years ago now with an offer that they never took me up on for a huge donation.

I had tied it to a claim that Russian, if I recall correctly, were doing some outrageous things with babies. It was an obvious lie and I kept my cash.

All clergy of the revealed religions based on the supernatural are perpetual liars.

Here is why.

You might want to consider joining the intelligentsia in there sound thinking as compared to those in intellectual and moral dissonance who somehow think that a genocidal son murdering prick is a good God.

Judge as scriptures tell you to do and stop calling evil good.
