Gnosis Of The Modern Age

However, I wasn't arguing that being the sole critic of your arguments was the best thing for your progression. I simply answered your question as to one way that you could find out if you were "top stuff" or not, by not putting your own things out there.

The reasoning for the point I made is simple: You're never the top stuff. Critiquing your own works is a great way of reminding yourself just how "not top stuff" you are. We tend to be our worst critics. By and large, ego will try to keep us from pushing out a product that we consider unfinished or not up to par. This is almost quintuply so for perfectionists.

There's nothing wrong with communicating your arguments and beliefs. However, a person truly concerned with the type of progress I describe, and what you say Gnosticism is, wouldn't be trying to communicate their position as the right and only position that exists, on a subjective basis. Subjectivity is 99.9% of the time wrong. I'd argue for 100% of the time wrong, when being used to argue for something that must be discussed objectively.

There needs to be a give and take. I agree that morality is better approached from the standpoint of reason. I believe that you cannot base an entire system on blind-faith. However, you and I seem to have very different ideas of what "reason" is, in respect to its application. While it's healthy to have differing views in hope of diversifying and widening a viewpoint, when it comes down to the practical operations of the application of logic, I consider...no...I know myself to be right. The results of my application in this way could end up mistaken or wrong, but I know that the only way to find what is right is by the process that I've detailed time and again to you.

"You're never the top stuff."

Someone is. Why not me?

One who thinks they are top stuff have already failed themselves. No one can be top stuff because we're all equal and if you're the Gnostic you say you are, you'd know that already.

Putting my stuff out there give my interlocutors my views and they can target them if they think they have better ones.

I self critique a view before putting it out but if you think your critique of your own view is so accurate that you will not bother seeking a different opinion, then I would say that it is you who thinks your thinking to be the top stuff.

Gnosticism is considered a heresy in Christianity. Proof

Why does it matter what your views are? It's your belief. You're getting bent out of shape and resorting to trollish tactics and nitpicking people's posts through semantics. If you really want interlocutors, maybe you should start answering the questions people are asking instead of you reacting childishly.

I don't think you self critique anything. You're putting out what you belief for maybe self-validation on yourself OR you just want to play with people's opinion underneath the anonymity that the internet gives. So far, you've yet to prove nothing and no one here is on your side from my point of view.

Consider yourself bitten.

Pfft.

If you think we are all equal under the law, this is good if you are talking equality of opportunity.

If you think we are all equal in outcome, you are a fool.

I tire of your constant name calling and labelling. Goodbye.

It's typical of a troll to attack the person rather than the content given.

Yeah, more and more we look at what's posted, and it becomes clear. Then, like you pointed out, there was that other post on the other thread. Kind of a dead give-away. You can't beat a troll, you just give them what they want. On the other hand, I use the opportunities as vehicles to speak intellectually on topics....soooo. I think it's a win for me xD

It's best to just ignore the trolls. It's the attention they desire. Over time, they'll start breaking the rules for attention and I'll get rid of them.
