Does Hell Exist?
#11
We already live in hell. Taxes, Tide Pods challenges, and random acts of gruesome violence is too common nowadays.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep. And I have promises to keep. Miles to go before I sleep.

The belief in a hell assumes that we have a judge who has already condemned us, --- as in the Christian tradition of Original Sin, --- and is  waiting after our death to decide to forgive us or not.

To think that a genocidal son murdering God like Yahweh, who also accepts sacrifices and bribes to change his verdicts or judgements is a fitting judge would take quite an leap of faith.

If killing instead of curing is moral, which Yahweh does all over the bible, then better to seek Satan as a judge as she makes more moral sense.

The most popularly used Gnostic phrase: "genocidal son murdering God like Yahweh"

I would like to point out that belief in a hell does not assume that we have a judge at all, let alone assume in the existence of a, quote, "genocidal son murdering God like Yahweh".

The Norse and Greek religions have a hell, respectively Hel and the Underworld. These function in much the same way, only people just go there -- no judgement necessary.

Your second paragraph, and sentence..., shows no understanding of the divide between testaments. You can't take an entire book as a whole, when it has a very clear line as to where Go-- I'm sorry -- "a genocidal son murdering God like Yahweh", changed his method of execution for passing judgement, and how to alleviate sin.

Lastly, the Bible was written by man, for man, to help make sense of the Divine. You're cherry-picking bad evidence, from a book that might not even exist as fact.

Thank you for round 3.

If heaven and hell exist as described by religions, then to say there is no gatekeeping judge is not too bright.

They do not of course but the supernatural believing religious do not see it that way.

Talk to your new Gnostic pal, Ascension then. He believes that heaven and hell have nothing to do with judgment, merely differently attuned energy frequencies. For a stance like that, hell becomes a relative term to describe any level of heaven that isn't as we imagine heaven to be.

I dont know why you are consistently potraying me as a a promoter of New Age, Just because New Age hijacks Occult and spiritual concepts it doesnt mean it belongs exclusively to them. New Age has been around since the mere 70s and is a Hippy mess that corrupts and steals Theosophical theology, Gnosticism and the Occult predate near all mainstream religion.

I never pegged you as a New Age guy. I'm just reiterating your argument from your other posts. If you think you follow the New Age religion closely enough to think you are being portrayed as it, perhaps you need to take your beliefs back to the drawing board.
