Bit of a weird one
#11
Myself, I do not believe in astral projection or out of body experience.

During a lucid dream I rose up out of my body. I looked down and saw myself sleeping. I opened up a window and I flew out and over the town where I lived. Eventually I flew back to the window and laid back down in my body. When I described this experience to others I got a lot of "That was an out of body experience" sort of response. No, it was all in my mind. It was night time and dark outside although in my "OBE" it was daylight.

I do believe that it is possible to go "somewhere" but that somewhere is deep within your own mind.

Many experiments have been done with OBE and AP. not once has anyone been able to prove it. ie to come back and tell the researchers what was on top of the cabinet or what was moved while they were asleep.

The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it. ~ Terry Pratchett

Also your debate here is flawed. Yes, the earth was flat until science proved it spherical. That's arguing my point, I'll believe things when proven. With the aura thing, it's not exactly what was described in spiritual texts, it's more like every living thing gives off an electromagnetic field, and those who believed in auras have decided that's what it is. Whatever, it exists, that's proven.

As for the fire thing. Why don't you ask if any of those people have seen things burnt by fire? Because 100% of them will have.

It's fine that you believe this stuff, but it's also fine that I don't. And yet you seem to need others to think the same as you. So thanks for "not" lecturing me. If you can drop in tonight and tell my what's hanging off my car keys, I'll believe you. Until then, let's give it a rest shall we?
No you have that wrong. I don’t need others to believe in what I believe at all we are all free to our own beliefs. As for your 100% of people would of seen fire burn your wrong again ask the blind man or woman. Why would you believe something you are so against just by me telling you what’s on your car keys that’s far from proof, would it not be possible for somebody to tell me and I just pass on the info. But you have said drop it and I will. :-)

Hiya caretaker lucid dreaming is an inner body experience not outer body so you are correct. There are also experiments going on in hospitals as we speak where things are being placed in obscure places. Nde patients are being interviewed and report seeing in detail those items that have been placed. This are normally somewhere high for that reason. Scientists are now split and a lot are now accepting that the conceousness can still survive when there is a flatline and no electric signals from the brain. Only difference between obe and nbe is the physical state. So in those terms there is plenty of evidence. I could come back with the argument if the researchers didn’t find any evidence simply because the subjects couldn’t project in the first place lol. Let’s be honest in all of this. Science says prove it we say disprove and there’s the stalemate. Great conversation though right :-)

Reading your experience reminds me of a time I think I related on here a few years ago. Every night as I went to feed the horses I would walk past the kids swing set in the dark. There would be just enough light from the sky and stars to see the outline of the swings and swing set and I would swear I could see lines extending from the top of the swing set up into the sky. The illusion was so real looking to me that I actually walked over to the swing set and felt above it convinced that maybe a spider web or string was stretched from the top to something higher, such as our radio antenna. Nope, nothing there, just an illusion.

We think that seeing something makes it real. The truth is that we have spots in front of our eyes all the time that we ignore. Sun spots, "floaters," dust motes, and other things cause shadows in our field of vision. Our brain, the organ tasked with explaining what we see, takes our visual input and shapes it into something we recognize and we think we've seen whatever explanation it gives us. If you hadn't thought you saw ghosts, you might have thought you were seeing elves, space aliens, gods, angels, demons. It's even possible you might have been convinced the room was filled with smoke or that wild animals invaded your home. I talked to a guy once that was convinced he got sucked through a time portal.
