But last August I was at a family gathering and it was a good night. After Myself and Jane and our 5 kids got back around midnight Jane showed me these two photos she had taken only an hour before. The first is as it should have been. Its me playing guitar with my cousin singing next to me. The second photo is the same thing but taken one second later. Jane didnt like it at all. Both myself and the kids were a bit shocked. No one at that party was wearing black leggings and a hooped top and no one was walking past as I was playing.

Im glad in a way that at last everyone can see for themselves that freeky things really do happen. All the best Mikey Dee from Coventry in England

Ok so photos were taken same device back to back? Why then is there such a difference between the ELA of the two images. One I belive is an "Original" the one with the "Ghost" the ELA is messed up which is a red flag telling me the photo has been altered

Its clear that someone walked in front of the camera. There's nothing that denotes this being remotely close to paranormal here.

I think someone walked in front too Vulty but I dont think the slight differences in the camera settings between photos accounts for all of it. It looks off, like the females head has a clear edge and there are reference points in that area but all other reference points are hard to see. The males leg should have good reference points but it doesnt.

Objects closer to the camera will appear blurry when the focus is already set for further sharpness.

RE: Ghostly Image at Family Party
We can do this with many pictures, but here is a slightly blurred image
http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?id...a3.1292881

And a very blurry image that I think I cropped down on my old phone which had a lower quality camera. You can still pick out stuff like the edge of the pillow behind the cats head and her stripes. I picked this because its the worst picture I have in quality and blur. But even in the blury bit I can pick out her ear and bits of her face visually.

These photos prove my point, yes the extremely blurred area may be "blank" but non blurred areas should still have clear reference points. In the OPs picture with "Ghost" it lacks the areas that should be defined clearly.

Its a pet peeve of mine, I have an eye for stuff that is visually not right. In all my digital editing classes my work was flawless, a couple times when we were restoring pictures I was accused of finding the originals to pass off as my work. Im not saying 100% the image was digitally edited, but it looks off more then basic function of the camera.

I made that cake btw, I have many talents Smile.

I believe we are agreeing on the same thing to be honest. Just a different approach.

Well thats exactly the problem..... I totally agree that someone must have walked in front of the camera. But there were only 50 or so people there that night and no one was wearing anything like black leggings or a hooped top. But she is there. Within hours asked my cousin "Do you recognise her?.. Who is she ? " and she and her brother both said no one was there dressed like that. Jane (my partner) was also very sure that no one walked in front of the camera. But what freaked me out a little was that this "image" looks exactly like the ghost that Walked Into My Room" that me and my Mums Mum saw... but he was male. But dressed exactly the same way 40 odd years ago when I was a kid. Either way it was good to play guitar. The song was Dolly Parton.. Joleen. :-)

RE: Ghostly Image at Family Party
The "Ariel" cake in the first example I gave.

As for the clothing not being right for anyone there weird stuff can happen because of how the process works. For instance on old black and white film stripes didnt show up. Mr Ed was a horse of course, except the horse was a jerk so they brought in a Zebra to play the roll. So when the differences merge it can make a image unlike what actually exists.
