Ghost Adventures
This I thought was a really great show when it started, however as the seasons progressed the EVP are ALL class A now and on topic.

This last season with Nick gone it's all about them doing crazy stuff before the actual investigation and with the Billys now getting in on the act.

It seemed interesting at first when they tried a few of Bill Chappell's inventions, though now it just seems to be in-show advertising.

With the investigation time now done to 5-10min of air time the show has lost it's edge and I no longer really watch it as it's all about Orbs and Zak getting possessed.

Do anyone else believe that their crystal clear EVP's are real?

RE: Ghost Adventures
It was all pretty zany before and mainly Zak treating Aaron like poop, doing stupid stuff for ratings. It was entertaining. But I lost all respect for this show and especially Zak after checking out his book. Nick was co-producer and a big part of the show and Zak snubbed him and made it seem like Nick never existed. No mention of him at all. No explanation as to why Nick left or exactly what happened. Nada. It takes a long time to write a decent book. Unless this was hastly done, he must have edited out everything about Nick.
I've mentioned this in another thread, too. It's just so unclassy and immature. Nick didn't deserve that.

RE: Ghost Adventures
I sometimes wish you could get access to their data(eg raw footage and raw audio) but this will never happen but it would be great to use that data. The same with Ghost Hunters. You never see an episode which looks at their pure evidence and with discussions.

When Ghost Hunter started it was about investigating local homes and they said in the shows it was most important especially if kids were present in the homes. Over time it's all about bragging on being the First Group to investigate a certain "large" places like tourist places etc in an aid to boost that tourist business.

I wish they would show Nick's new shows over here in the UK

RE: Ghost Adventures
Nick's new show 'Ghost Stalkers' is ridiculous. You don't really see Nick. He works more behind the scenes and is the producer. The host looks dishevelled, scrawny and dirty, and way to emotional.
You have to remember with Ghost Hunters is that they were, and still do, investigate private residences for free. Jason and Grant spent their own money, and probably took out some loans, to start up TAPS and continue to work at Roto Rooter to this day, I believe. The show was a way to supplement the costs and gain some income. As they grew, they were able to access more well-known and high booked sites, and I believe it's those locations that pay a fee to TAPS and gets them better ratings. Last I heard, TAPS still investigates private homes but those places are being filmed by their production crew less and less and probably at the homeowners request to not be filmed.
When Grant left, there were some changes made to the show, too.

There is a lot of editing done on site. These shows have a van dedicated to editing gear. If you saw the raw footage you will most likely not see much.

Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

This season they have gotten back to basics more or less. Not so much dramatizations in the beginning and back to tried and true equipment.
I agree with Chappel's stuff...an infomercial for him. Only thing that shows any promise is the STS cam.
As for Nick, a mod on their forum explained that Nick did his "other show" stuff against his contract with Ghost Adventures AND Travel Channel. That's why he was dumped.
