Quote: There are 3 people in the area that I could maybe use as teachers. But Im faced with the fact all I am is what I learned myself and I have held that if its something I should be I should be able to find it myself.

On the note of teachers. the ONLY reason I have mine is because I needed. This goes along with what i have experienced, as well as what one of my mentors said. I was told that I [awoke] very late in age. like most people on here have explained that they experienced stuff as a kid and it left a life impact on them.

I never had that stuff happen as a kid, infact, i never thought about the paranormal beyond scary movies and occasional TV programs until i was 24. Late 2014, i became very aware that stuff was around me. and it was terrifying. like, i can remember sensory overload and flipping out because I didn't understand anything of what I sensed. my parents thought i had flipped my stuff, and i tried to explain to them that I was terrified and confused. and they just put me into the psyche ward as an answer. I tried to explain to the doctors what I felt and all they asked was if the "voices" talked to me. and it was literally the most painful thing i went through. realizing that people would never understand what i was feeling and thought i was schizophrenic. i eventually just played dumb and told them i was fine until they let me out.

the first few months were the worst experience i have ever been through. I lost friends, jobs, and worst of all, my identity. I didn't know anything about myself.

I finally found a friend via a skype group who suggested i might have "popped" and when i asked him what he meant, he explained that most people who have these senses discover them early in life, but I was a rare case of someone who awoke late in life.

he taught me basics of shields and defense. and suggested i find a teacher who could instruct me further as a teacher could probably help me find my center again.

I found a local shaman who has been very helpful, and a few weeks back he said I had progressed to a point i could search for my own identity again. We still keep in touch occasionally. and i will be honest. without him, i probably wouldn't be confidant as i am today.

RE: How things work
There are different points we all need guidance, I may be on one if I choose to follow the path suggested

You know it's really funny reading the original post of this thread and just watching it progress into other things, especially to how some of us started off. I myself am an energy-cultivator as well.

I actually started off as a Kung-Fu practitioner in Traditional Wing Chun, then from there I moved on to internal arts(also using energy work) quite similar to that of Tai Chi. Later on I encountered a former Shoalin Monk(homegrown from China) since he decided to move out of the temple settings all the way to Canada. Although he was superficially no longer a monk in robes with a bald head, he brought and kept that spirit with him and was a master in his own right. He also assumed the role of being my master without me even asking him. I was actually quite humbled to begin with, but I ended up speaking to others that knew him well and told me that he never or rarely takes disciples under his tutelage, which actually made me even more speechless and over-appreciative. My gratitude to him had no bounds.

He showed me alot of amazing things and guess what Nabu, he was actually one of those people that could snuff out a candle or even light one up, which was the very least of his abilities. He taught me how to astral travel out of my body as well.

On the subject of astral-traveling, when I trained under him we both were in a small rural town in the province of Ontario and a few miles of us there was another neighboring rural town. I went over there one day to buy some items which I couldn't find over in mine. I noticed alot of the folks there looked worried, so I went over to speak to some of them, they said there were some people who passed through town a couple of days ago and went into one of the town's abandoned buildings there practicing some form of satanic dark magic or something of that description. Ever since people in that town complained alot of poltergeist activity that seemed to be spreading and terrifying everyone there. I drove to the supposed building and without going in it, I could already tell by the tension in the air and just the overall feel and that the mood there was dark and unwelcoming.

When I went back I told my master of this disturbance and he said "we'll go there to see whats happening". So later on we both meditated and astral traveled over there and we saw group of rotten and disfigured looking spirits with twisted faces, basically the degenerate type. For the most part these things even though they were dark-looking in that dimension, still they emitted a light but it was very dim, blackish and gloomy, my Master's spirit on the other hand was this extremely bright and radiant light-blue. He basically went over to confront and tell them to leave. Alot of them did and in fear of him, there were a few however that refused him and remained defiant. It was these odd few that got into a fight with my master.

Now you have to understand that even though spirits don't necessarily have flesh bodies, they still have bodies, but are just composed of energy.

So although our spirits are made of energy, the kicks and punches my master threw at these things actually did end up injuring them, one of these rotten spirits in particular had nearly half of his/its body permanently disintegrated from getting into a scrap with him. I had the distinct feeling my master could dissolve and have eliminated them completely, but they all retreated before giving him the chance. That was that.

Later on because my family decided to re-locate elsewhere to the city, eventually I had to sadly part ways with him.

Since then I found a practice that was within the same realm of what I previously learnt and was taught by someone whom is countless times more powerful then my shaolin teacher was. What I'm learning now you could say is medical high-energy physics from a westernized scientific classification, but the roots of the practice are eastern. Fortunately this practice is not taught in private and has been made public to anyone that wishes to learn.

RE: How things work
Akaalis, what were these spirits your Master fought? Were they human ghosts? Had did they get in such a deployable state?

I don't exactly know 'what' these spirits were, nor do i know their history or how they came to be, but I do know they were foul and wretched to the core. I don't know if they were human per say, but they were definitely humanoid, as in 4 limbs, 2 arms 2 legs. But extremely disfigured and almost rotting.

The best general and rough depiction of them is in the video below.

Mind you, the putrid-grotesqueness of these things that I seen with my 2 eyes could never be imagined enough to be accurately depicted on a cinema screen or any video game, but the video nevertheless gives you a general idea of what they look like.

RE: How things work
Yes but if such feats as I've described WERE feasible, how could they possibly work within known scientific law? Again, this is simply brainstorming for purely literary purposes. I've been told to just "make it up", but I personally dislike doing that, as I enjoy the in-story challenges from at least having my foundation in the known workings of our own universe.

PM me. I have done some thinking on this and i was actually hoping you would reply. I think i might be able to help you in more detail. the thread is quite off topic at this point. to be honest despite this being a paranormal forum, not all the members are as well versed in nerd culture, then again before i got into the paranormal, I read (and still read) a lot of comics.
so i will PM you and hope for a reply!
