The Encantado is one of a race of creatures with origins in South American mythology, legend and folklore. In particular, accounts of its existence originate from within tribes around The Amazon river systems.
I know that they go from water to land and can take on the image of dolphins in water and are more human like on land but still have dolphin like traits, also they are known to lure children into the body of water that they spend the most time in, other than that I have nothing.

Keywords mythology, legend and folklore
Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

Wait I have a vague memory of them{I think}.Didn't they have blow holes as humans and were pink and live in a version of Atlantis? I didn't do much research because I found them very.....fanciful. Like that version of the harpy that leaves the bottom half{human?} when flying away with intestines trailing. I forget what they were called. Pretty sure that was S America too.
