Demonic enmity
Did a EVP session last night and before our investigation started I interviewed the family including kids to get an idea of what was occurring in the home. About 10 min into our evp session we get a overlapped audio. The audio contains about 5 or 6 clips of the conversations that occurred before we started rolling audio or video. All the clips overlap like they where edited. The thing that really caught my attention I remember the one child saying he liked my iphone case during my interview with him. The very last thing caught on the EVP was his voice saying that.

Looking for anyone who may have encountered anything like this before.

RE: Demonic enmity
First why assume its demonic? next what type of equipment? Internal external mics? What electronics were on in the home?

Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

Thinking demonic because it was using our voices including mine from before. The audio is caught on both the digital recorder and the video HD recorder. I was talking so its hard to hear at one spot the evp is heard as I was talking then continued.

RE: Demonic enmity
Well you ignored the type of equipment so lets look at something causing a delay or something buffering your recording. Possibly a feedback between the video and your device. Some equipment can have up to a 10 second buffer. Are you experiencing comb filtering? Is another device in the home causing this?

RE: Demonic enmity
Demons are rare, very rare. Had a demonic possession been occurring at the residence, you would most certainly know it aside from EVP's being caught.
As for the EVP, you should always look at equipment abnormalities being caused by the equipment itself malfunctioning. If that can be ruled out, you can move forward with other options. IMO, 99% of the time, it is not paranormal. This is not to say your EVP isn't legit, but a demon is the least likely of all the possibilities.

Could be a reflection of sound onto your equipment. Small room?

RE: Demonic enmity
Phantom is right demons are rare. In all I have ever come across only twice(in my 30 yrs) would I term it a demons(demon to me is any negative entity that was once human or never was human. In either case they have no soul and are extremely hateful and jealous of humans).
If its a demon, you would know.
If you turned nothing else up it might even have been staged. But if that's all you found i wouldnt send the family into panick crying demons.

RE: Demonic enmity
There do seem to be entities (is that what you were trying to say?) who are able to mimic voices of familiar people. I've even had a strange encounter where one was able to physically mimic someone very close to me.

That said, this does seem sort of like some kind of equipment issue, rather than an entity. Even if there actually was an entity mimicking someone else's voice, it doesn't mean that it's demonic.

RE: Demonic enmity
I have heard of mimic demons that go around watching people their whole lives seeking to make contact with the family of the deceased to gain some kind of trust and to gain control. This isn't my main course of study, but yea I have heard spirits taunt ghost hunters and even mimic the hunters voice and I have noticed familiar voices at times and other times several voices answering at once. Every circumstance is different. The main thing to remember is that not everything we perceive as evil is truly evil. Our fear of the unknown feeds the madness and makes it seem worse then it is sometimes. Other times it is evil and must be dealt with.
