Information About Orbs

RE: Information About Orbs
There are plenty of sites you can visit that will "ooh" and "ahh" at every speck of dust and call it a ghost. I for one appreciate the fact that this is a forum with members who call it like they see it.

Again, if you have something you would like to show, feel free to post it...but opinions will be given.

RE: Information About Orbs
I do not put alot of stock in orbs. I never have. I am NOT saying that their is no such thing..I am saying that I choose to believe that they are nothing more than dust, bugs, moisture, bad exposure, reflections etc..I do believe in spirits..just not the little 'round' floating ones that show up only on a pic of you and your Gran. Or something like that. Icontexto-emoticons-04-032x032

RE: Information About Orbs
Ok I will state this as simple as I can. We have discovered what causes orbs and how to not capture any by moving a flash further from the lens. There are a great deal of people who have done testing including Fuji Film. They now have orb free cameras. Example s9000 s91000, now what they did was move the flash farther back, use a faster shutter and put a lens hood on the cameras. This keeps the specks of dust from being lit up. So if you can prevent them this easy it proves where they come from.

Now you can test to see if your point and shoot cameras that have the lens next to the flash will catch orbs. This is easy also, take a high power spotlight and shine it. If you see all the dust particles floating you will capture orbs. This is also possible to eliminate orbs from video by building a DEVA Dust Elimination Video Apparatus. This is a shield for your lens as well.

Now lets see your testing to prove orbs are spirits. Don't come back with because I feel it.

Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

RE: Information About Orbs
I admit in most cases orbs can be explained through the scientific process, and when that is available such as camera settings, lighting, dust and moisture...then it is what it is.

That said I am a believer...and when the circumstances prove that there is no other explanation through rational and scientific means, that there are orbs I have seen which I believe to paranormal in nature and manifestations of spirit energy.

I have seen photos that contain orbs I do believe are paranormal, though they are few and far between. I would muster a guess at likely 5 out of a thousand photos to genuinely contain orbs we can't explain. I am no expert on photography and don't claim to be...I'd like to think I have a pretty good eye though for this kind of thing.

Why are people so afraid to believe in something they cannot explain away. I am telling you, without a doubt, orbs do exist and I think the camera is the best way to see them. I have a couple of spirits in my house and my dog will play with them so I get my camera and sure enough there is an orb taking up the whole of the picture. I had a red orb once materialize into a gentleman wearing a red shirt standing at my back door. Just please just quit trying to analyze everything and just accept it as truth.

"Please quit trying to analyze everything and take everything and just accept it as truth"?

I am sorry but that is not the way I work. I dont just take everything I read or hear as truth without analyzing it myself.

The odd thing is that I didn't really even disagree with you and you should know that if you actually read my comment. Note I said "Personally I wouldnt say that 100% of all orbs are dust, insects, moisture.. but most all of them are (probably more than 99.9%)"

My guess is that there are millions, if not billions, of photos out there that contain orbs - In my view a very small part of those orbs may be something "unexplainable" but if I understand you correctly I should just not think about it and go ahead and accept that all those orbs are ghosts and spirits as a fact.

Are you really saying that people should just automatically take whatever as fact without thinking and analyzing for themselves? Or am I misunderstanding you? We'd all still be living in caves if everyone had been that way.

I agree, but at the same time...can't be so openminded our brains fall out! Gawp I think it has to be a balance of both.

The thread was made to show the many examples of what ISN'T paranormal as far as orbs go. Melbenwes, if you have a picture that you feel has captured an orb that doesn't fall under what is posted here, please feel free to post it in the Ghost Pictures forum.

RE: Information About Orbs
This is a great explanation of ORBs and how they are caused. One thing this does do is point out why orbs weren't around in the 30's through 60's A few started showing up in the seventies with smaller camera technology but exploded on the scene with the invention of the digital cameras.
