Preacher Bound For Hell

RE: Preacher Bound For Hell
I dont see where Preachers are special. Noone gets gods cell phone # for a job or position within an institution. I dont think a preacher would get any special consideration for sky cake.

If you dont live as a Christian then you aren't one IMO. That goes for any religion as well. You can say you are and claim membership but it doesn't mean much, just makes you feel better. The bible isn't terribly important overall either IMO. If your a Christian then you follow the teachings of Christ, not Moses. Christs sacrifice established a new covenant with god and rendered the old laws obsolete. Christs message is really simple and doesn't require lengthy study to understand. Its greatness is in its simplicity.

I dont think I really believe in "Hell" in the sense everyone else does either. Just as I dont think there is any "Devil" sitting in hell governing evil. Most of those ideas were beat into our heads to control us with fear and often absorbed from other belief systems assimilated by Christianity in the past.

I'm not claiming to "KNOW" anything really. These are just a few observations on the spiritual journey that is life.

We might need to move this to the "Religion" forum lol.

RE: Preacher Bound For Hell
I don't personally think what religion you are matters one bit!! It is how you live your life!

MY religion is closest to Judaism, HOWEVER it is not true Judaism, as Jews do not believe in demons. THAT is something I cannot accept.

We have our own belief system, neither Jew nor Christian....and I like it that way because I am a free thinking, opinionated, strong willed woman....and I do not like being told that I am incapable of interpreting the Torah or the Bible myself. I have never believed something just because I was told to....i like to make my own decisions and form my own opinions, and no established religion allows you to do that.

What I believe is therefore complex:

We keep the Jewish food laws (christians do not)

We keep the Jewish holidays(christians keep a few of them)

Saturday is our sabbath (not for Christians)

We do not believe Jesus is the son of God (Christians do)

We DO believe in demons (Jews do not)

We do not believe the Jewish animal blood sacrifical laws can get rid of sin (Jews do)

We do believe Jerusalem is God's holy city (everyone believes that, even Muslims)

We do believe in Watchers/fallen angels that are in rebellion against God and man (Jews do not)

We believe that the EARLY church...i.e. James and the disciples....were JEWS, practicing Judaism but believing Jesus was a flesh and blood Messiah (descendant of King David and a "deliverer"). (BOTH religions overlook this, if they can)

We believe there is a difference between James' "christianity" and that of Paul. A BIG difference. WE side with James! (Christians today follow Paul's Christianity)

We do believe in dualism ... i.e. a constant physical and spiritual battle of good vs. evil (Jews do not!)

Ummm...well that's the basis of it. So as you can see, it is neither

Christianity nor rigid Judaism. And i am proud to have it so!

Thats interesting I must say. Its good that you are thinking for yourself about these things.

Mainstream Jews may not believe in demons but angels and demons were a big part of the Jewish mystical works and many alternate religious works of the same era. Most of the angel and demon names we use now came from these texts, not to mention the story of Lillith. I must admit that I am not very familiar with modern Jewish thought on demons but I was under the impression they acknowledged them to exist. I could be wrong though.

RE: Preacher Bound For Hell
I was HOPING someone wouldn't ask for clarification...Frown It's very complicated...

I am speaking here of Orthodox Jews, ok?

I am not sure of the tenets of the Conservative Jewish movement, so I don't know what they believe.

And as for Reform Jews, I don't know what they believe, AND NEITHER DO THEY.

My interactions have been witht he Orthodox movement...and they do NOT believe in demons/angels in rebellion against God. Key word: REBELLION

Their reasoning is that God is Omnipotent, that He has no equal...therefore the Angels could not be in rebellion against Him....because he has omnipotent power. So....knowing that "angels that do evil" exist...they have decided that these angels that do bad things are NOT rebelling against God, but rather doing his bidding in that He tells them to do bad things. To show us both good and evil. So, even though the angels do evil, they aren't really evil or in rebellion...they're just following the OMNIPOTENT God's orders. Because God is omnipotent, they could not rebel because they do not have the POWER to rebel...ALL POWER is God's, and God alone

Well.....I have a hard time believing this. I'm sorry. I've had interactions with demons since childhood. I've seen it. I've read it's thoughts. I've been told it is part of a generational curse, which I am now trying to free myself and my family from. I KNOW demons are not doing the will of God. Because I have PERSONALLY known one. The energy it puts off I've lived under for years....it is most positively and completely NEGATIVE AND EVIL...and it/they HATE GOD> IF you spend time with one, you can feel it....pure, undiluted and terminal HATRED.

The Jews are wrong.

RE: Preacher Bound For Hell
Not all Christians go to heaven. There are a lot of Christians in hell. The bible says that if you don't forgive...God will not forgive you...it also says if you blaspheme the holy spirit, you wont get into heaven either...because you can't be forgiven (there are some ecceptions, like if you do it by accident or you don't really mean it). One of the popes actually went' to hell....i was reading this story...because he loved money too much and he never repented. And some people believe in Jesus but never get saved. They never make him savior or ask him into their hearts. Also some people don't believe he is the Son of God. However they believe in Him. The way to eternal life is very narrow and the path to destruction is very wide...that's what the Lord says.

RE: Preacher Bound For Hell
No one knows for sure what happens after you die. Some people may think they do some people believe certain things happen. But put everyone's thoughts and beliefs together there will be lots of different thoughts not everyone can be right. Everyone has the right to believe and follow whatever religion they want but the same goes for religion as what happens after death no one knows if there is a god every religion believes different things so not all of them are real. No one knows if any are true. I just live life how I'm happy and will deal with what happens when I die when the time comes. I'm not religious but have nothing against anyone who is but I don't like people trying to make everyone change to their religion to theirs.
