floating demon nun

Because of man kind's fear of the unknown, we tend to try to label every experiance with a 'scientific' explanation so we don't go mad. What ever you experianced, it was real. You saw it, you felt it. I, too, found ways to put a block on the spirit world because of the extreme fear I felt as a child. Like you, I grew up in a christian house hold, and became terrified of not just demons, but the wrath of God as well. Same as you, the terror I felt has stayed with me to this day. As a younger man, I went as far as to 'protect' myself with a few different tattoos symbolizing my two gaurdian angels and the evil they are protecting me from. Like a friend of mine who also dabbled in the dark for some time, you may have 'attachements'. A Shaman in your area can probably help you.

I am a Christian by faith, but I cannot dispute that the Native Americans know the reality of negative entities. A Shaman would know what you are talking about when you describe it, and what to do about it. My personal opinion is the power of prayer to God, but I also believe that so much can be learned from those who know this land and what is on it. Remember, America wasn't discovered........it was inhabited. And those who were here first know way more than we do.

But you aren't actually awake, the experience is so frightening because the victims, although paralyzed, seem to have full use of their senses. In fact, it is often accompanied by strange smells, the sound of approaching footsteps, apparitions of weird shadows or glowing eyes, and the oppressive weight on the chest, making breathing difficult if not impossible. All of the body's senses are telling the victims that something real and unusual is happening to them. Rather than ghosts or demons, however, there is a scientific explanation: "sleep paralysis"

To anyone who this happens to you swear your awake and you actually think it was real. This happened to me and I swore it was real for a few years until I discovered what it was and the cause. I studied it to find answers and by doing this actually discovered what caused mine. The only time I experienced it was when I slept in one back room, its a natural fear cage with extremely high EMF's The fuse box, and 220 lines running over head in that room. The EMF's altered the magnetic field in my brain and triggered this.

With all due respect, venerable sir, are you suggesting this whole experience was a product of my warped, vulnerable mind?

I say...the old hag is real, and she is a hatefull force of the capitalist regime. Long live Jim Jones, the closest thing we'll get to jim jones on this world.

Peace, brothers and sisters, and remember to look into our Lord and saviour Jim Jones, and don't believe the propaganda written about him, the second coming was thrawted by out inhuman govermant,

Peace brothers and sisters, sleep well (well.....)

Not to sound like an after school special, but drinking is going to make you far more suseptable to demonic attack. Demons wait for you to become in a weakend mental state, then attack.

Is this Roman Catholic type stuff? I have been studying Buddhism, and The Buddha advised his followers not to drink for this reason.
Are demons spirits, tricks of the mind, agents of Mara/Satan/Jin or whatever you subscribe to? Come on guys what is going on.

It is my belief that demons are minions of Satan that serve him and his insatiable appetite for destruction. I do like to look at all aspects of something, so don't rule out UglyNRude's post about sleep paralysis. It sounds like he had an experience similar to yours. I also don't want to rule out an attack, because not every case of sleep paralysis involves visions. Especially since you were playing around with the occult at the time.

As far as doing anything that impairs your senses, which we all know alcohol does, it would stand to reason that an entity would jump at the chance to attack someone who can't fight back. Prayer works for me, as I believe it does everyone. I don't believe human beings have the ability to fight demons without Divine help. But that is my opinion, and I only know what works for me. Just keep in mind, whether it's sleep paralysis or an actual attack, I for one believe wholeheartedly that you saw something, and it has deeply affected you. Positive energy is the best tool of defense, no matter what is wrong.
