Have you met a vampire?

RE: Have you met a vampire?
Even before Anne Rice (a blessing from Osiris, I swear), Nawlins was known for it's vampires. The rumors have it they were smuggled into America by the casket girls.

That's a whole bunch of down the rabbit hole stuff, so I'll wont get into now.
My father and I both while in NOLA at age 14 were driving from the french quarter when we saw this mad walking so fast up the street. My dad zoomed up and was joking that "here's your vampire" ( I love Anne Rice) and sure enough the guy was pale and wearing a dark business coat ( in Aug) with a dark suit. His hair was tied back and he smiled down at me, which I instantly FELT danger and panic. My dad yelled woah, and stopped the car. We watched this man cross into the street and then fly UPWARDS and was gone. We drove around trying to find him or a reason of why we both saw what we did. He has always hated talking about that with me, and it still gives him nightmares. Not sure what I saw. I might have some silly notion about Lestat roaming about, but I know fact and fiction. I still can't understand what happened or why. I feel instantly frozen as I did back at my youth, watching some guy shoot upwards from the review mirror of our rental car.
Hi, Collective15. Smile No, sweetie. It was another vampire website.

And YOUR experience reminds me of something I saw on TV. I can't remember the name of the show. But, these people saw what you saw. These people flying upwards and disappearing. They said they would look at them for about 15 seconds and then they would fly upwards and just disappear. People call these people, vampires. And while there have GOT to be a logical explanation for what these people saw and if there is not a logical explanation then, I guess they were vampires. Because, they definitely sound like vampires to ME.

RE: Have you met a vampire?
I heard that in Nawlins a group of women saw a man jump off a building and fly away. And there are actually deaths associated with the vampires there. A teen interested in the vampire subculture was found skinned alive, several bodies were found drained of blood (the killer in the former case was found, however. He was decidely human).

RE: Have you met a vampire?
Oh, I'll have to start a thread about all the reported spooky and real stories from nola and other cites. I'm always a skeptic at heart, even when I witnessed something beyond my own reasoning. It could have been a ghost, but I literally wept on the phone with my friend after it telling her it was a vampire. I was an emotional mess that night, and I had a very weird dream about someone in my room talking to me and I woke up crying. Could it have been my teenage hormones? Maybe. I did go back for Halloween two years ago and some guy in a clown mask kept following me. He would stand across the street while I visited different bars, and wave at me. Totally creepy and completely out of context here!

Yes, Collective15. Start that thread. I would love to read it. Smile

And Punky. THAT is exactly what I was talking about. That group of women seeing a man jumping off a building and flying off. Weird.

RE: Have you met a vampire?
I did a google search and am not finding it. Might be an urban legend, but it's not showing up as one. Then again, to be fair, I only had time to do a quick search this morning.

Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

RE: Have you met a vampire?
I heard about the man jumping off the building on a show on Destination America, and again when my friend brought it back with him.
