Something to do with a timer built into your dna that dictates the natural slowing of your bodies ability to produce cells as you age .

I've heard of psychic vampires / shadow people and do believe in those. However I haven't ever had any reason to believe in the traditional ones. Over indulgent upper class sociopaths who get a power rush from drinking blood though, much more believable. Who knows though, it may even be good for them.

I think what you're talking about is the shortening of the number of telomeres in our DNA. Our parental / family's background dictates how long each person's is and as we get older it is whittled down.

Eating the blood of others? Wow, now I've just had a flash back of Elizabeth Bathory and her virgin bloodbaths and feasts. Joking aside though, I remember seeing an article years ago about the benefits of using baby stem cells somewhere to beat cancer. Or was I imagining that? Supernatural thoughts creep ever closer to scientific evaluation, a very scary thought indeed.

Oh yeah.. umm.. hi. New here.

RE: Have you met a vampire?
i have heard that consuming human blood is a sure way to get diseases. Mother Nature did not intend for people to consume each other's blood. However, I have met people who called themselves vampires and consume human blood. I have also met psychic and tantric vampires. In fact, I was astrally attaked by a tantric vampire that I met on a vampire forum. But, that's a LONG story.

This is the right place for long stories. Do tell. Who cares what other people think! You know what you went through. You might get some feed back you hadn't thought of.

I heard about it at this website. Apparently the creator is writing it from his own expirences. http://vampirewebsite.net/

I'm very fond of that site, as entertainment and to fuel my vampire addiction. However, I doubt it true to the point where I would consider believing it gullibility. It is a small group of individuals who claim the reason their "evidence" isn't more widely distributed is because of conspiracies and cover ups.

In real life, I can unfortunately say I've never met a vampire. People around here don't claim such things. Most impressive folk I've come across locally is a Demonologist and a handful of Wiccans.

"I guess the battle between Good and Evil is sort of irrelevant."

RE: Have you met a vampire?
I've met lots of people who have claimed to be vampires.

I wouldn't say I was convinced, or impressed.

There is one person whose intellect and background is intriguing, and that's Merticus.

Okaaay. Here goes.

I met this vampire on a forum in 2006. He and I got acquainted and got very close. Well. He started talking sexual talk to me, in private messages. I didn't want him to do that, so I told him that I didn't want him to do that. But, he kept on and on and on. Until, I said, "Look I don't like you to talk that way to me. And IF you continue to, I will talk to one of the moderators about your behavior." But, he kept talking to me like that. So, I told one of the moderators about him and his conduct. And the moderator that I talked to about him, said that they had a lot of complaints about him. So, after I talked to the moderator, I left. So, the Christmas morning of 2009, I woke up with this weight on me. I screamed for my mom and she came in and found me, being pushed up and down on my bed. She quickly ran over to me and she said, "I know who that was. It was Tobias. (Tobias was the name of the vampire that I met on that forum) Well. From then on out, I could not do anything without him attacking me. I could not eat, I could not sleep. I could not take a shower. I couldn't even shop without him attacking me. And by attacked, I don't mean I was beat up, either. Then I met this sweet lady on another forum. I told her about him and she got REALLY MAD. So, she sent HER astral body to him. I am not sure what she done, but, he hasn't attacked me since then. I am thankful for that sweet lady. She died of cancer. I was so sad to hear that. Because, she was truly my friend.

I made this reference about him in sirtaw7's thread:

Hmmm. It could have been an astral spirit. I was attacked my a vampire who I met on a vampire forum 2006, I believe it was. And by attacked, I don't mean I was beat up, either. He lived in Arkansas and at the time, I lived in Kentucky and what he done, was he would send his astral body to me to attack me. I could not do anything without being attacked by him. I could not eat, I could not sleep, I could not shower, I could not go shopping without him attacking me. I could not do NOTHING without him and attacking me. And if I may remind you, when I say, attacked, I don't mean I was beat up. Well. To make a long story short, I met this sweet lady on another forum. And I told her about it. She got so mad. So, she sent HER astral body to him and now I am not attacked by him. Then another lady that she was friends with, told me that the vampire died. I don't think he died PHYSICALLY. I think that other lady done something to his astral body so he could not attack me again. Because, a couple of years later, I went back to that same forum and I got to talking to a girl there who knew him and she said, "Honey, he is not dead. In fact, I know where he lives."

Smile Yep. She was so sweet. And, yes. It WAS a very horrid experience, for me. You know, Pix? I never really believed in vampires. But, after THAT horrible experience, I kind of believe that, maybe, they ARE out there.

RE: Have you met a vampire?
Emma, was it a vampire website called The Looking Glass or Nosftu?

That's a whole bunch of down the rabbit hole stuff, so I'll wont get into now.
My father and I both while in NOLA at age 14 were driving from the french quarter when we saw this mad walking so fast up the street. My dad zoomed up and was joking that "here's your vampire" ( I love Anne Rice) and sure enough the guy was pale and wearing a dark business coat ( in Aug) with a dark suit. His hair was tied back and he smiled down at me, which I instantly FELT danger and panic. My dad yelled woah, and stopped the car. We watched this man cross into the street and then fly UPWARDS and was gone. We drove around trying to find him or a reason of why we both saw what we did. He has always hated talking about that with me, and it still gives him nightmares. Not sure what I saw. I might have some silly notion about Lestat roaming about, but I know fact and fiction. I still can't understand what happened or why. I feel instantly frozen as I did back at my youth, watching some guy shoot upwards from the review mirror of our rental car.
