Tarot Cards

RE: Tarot Cards
Well, I've had tarot decks for nearly 40 years now. And I have an impressive collection and I give really, really good readings. I have NEVER cleansed a deck or slept with one under my pillow or any of those things. I know that some people swear by it, but I really don't think it is necessary. I also don't think that the first deck has to be a gift. Decks are art - they have to speak to the individual through the art. A gift deck often doesn't spark anything in you because it doesn't speak to you (do you like every painting in a gallery?). Unless it actually has negative energy about it, just use it. Your energy will infuse it over time and you and the artwork will "grow together" in a very organic way by reading the deck. In fact, if it has ancestral energy in it, I think that might make the readings more powerful. If it does have a negative energy about it, sit the cards in sunlight or moonlight for a day/night. Spread them out. That should do it.

I was wondering. I want this deck to settle with me. Since there have been a lot of people using it. How should I cleanse it? And when I do, will it be okay to infuse my energy into it?

Hi, a simple way to cleanse the cards is to light a sage stick, ( or use a sage incense stick ) and pass the cards individually through the smoke. Afterwards, shuffle the cards until they feel comfortable in your hands. Keep the cards if you feel comfortable with them, carry them with you at first, and sleep with them under your pillow. I've been reading Tarot for over 20 years, having been taught by an English witch. I've just written a book ( on Kindle ) all about Tarot and my experiences. Good Luck with the cards. Best Regards KevSav
