My Most Recent Experience
The other day, I attended my Step-father's grandfather's funeral. I was sitting maybe, three pews behind my step-grandmother (the deceased's daughter). Toward the end of the service, I looked up toward where she was sitting and saw what looked like a flash of light that was in the shape of a person sitting next to her and her daughter. It lasted about 2 seconds and it was gone. Just like that. I blinked a couple of times to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. But I started to feel a heaviness on my chest. Goosebumps started to form on my arms and I felt like I was the only one in that room (there was about 30-50 people there). I didn't know what to say or how to act. This was the very first time I've had an experience right there at a funeral.

I'm used to paranormal experiences, but this one caught me off guard. I feel like I caught a glimpse of my step-great-grandfather crossing over and the flash I saw was "the light", but I'm not sure. I normally don't see spirits in a white light form. I'm used to seeing them in full-figure or shadow-figures. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Thanks for taking the time to read my experience.

You may want to read this. Then again you probably won't as it explains whats happening to to you.

Belief bias occurs when we make illogical conclusions in order to confirm our preexisting beliefs. Belief perseverance refers to our tendency to maintain a belief even after the evidence we used to form the belief is contradicted.

I'm not sure that provided the answer I'm looking for. I'm not afraid that I may be going insane...I want to know why I see these things so easily. I have been since I was a little kid. I honestly don't believe it's a mental disorder.

RE: My Most Recent Experience
Many major religions speak openly about interactions with the spirit world as a normal aspect of human life. The only ones who think there is a debate here are the Atheists. Everyone else just knows.
Because you had a physical reaction to the energy you experienced, I think its important to trust your feelings about who and what it was. Keeping a journal can help you gain understanding. And study Metaphysics and Shamanism. In Greek Mythology, a Psychopomp comes in and "Escorts the Souls of the Dead". In Shamanic cultures the medicine person may be called to help also. Their job is to intermediate between people and the spirit world. If you see spirits maybe it is part of your calling to learn how to assist them.Icontexto-emoticons-06-032x032
